About Us

The Henry Arts Alliance was established in 1991, by Dr. Edward Bridges as a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to sponsor and encourage cultural and educational activities in Henry County.

The Arts Alliance’s mission was then and is now to improve the quality of life in Henry County and the Southern Crescent (Henry, Clayton, Fayette, Butts, Newton, Rockdale and Spalding and surrounding counties) by creating awareness, stimulating interest, and encouraging local involvement in the arts.

The Arts Alliance programs are open to the public with a desire to reach all who are interested in the arts. We offer our events free so that all County residents can come to any of the performance and aren’t excluded because of financial concerns.

We offer scholarships to our Summer Performing Arts Camp and Visual Arts Camp to under-served youth. We have a new program that offers art and theater classes to physically and mentally handicapped young people. This is a program that started in our summer camps and will expand to year long classes.

Arts Alliance projects include Christmas with the Arts, Exploring the Arts Camp , The High School Art Contest, Fall Festival of Storytelling, Visual Arts Camp, Art In Unusual Places and our High School Scholarship program in Theater, Music and Art.

Every single penny that we receive in grants and gifts goes directly into our programs. Our Board and many of our teachers volunteer their time and talent to further the Arts on the south side of Atlanta.
