The Heritage Writers Established in 2003 through the determined efforts of Peggy Renfroe DeWine, The Heritage Writers Group meets at the Heritage Senior Center on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The group, directed by a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, elected each January, strives to provide an environment for the fledgling writer to sharpen his skills, share his talent, receive helpful critique, and remain motivated toward reaching his goals. The mission statement, “encouraging the art of writing through sharing knowledge, experience, and motivation,” extends to the very young as well as the senior citizen writers of the community. Published projects completed by the group include Different Voices, a book of short stories contributed by seventeen members, The Heritage Review Magazine 2008 and 2009, also a compilation of short stories provided by the membership. Several members have published books and articles credited to their resumes. THWG is committed to community involvement and is an active affiliate of the Henry Arts Alliance. A nominal annual membership fee is required to be a voting member. However, all aspiring writers, professional and amateur, are welcome. Visit the Heritage Writers website now for more information! _________________________________________________________________
