13th ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL ART CONTEST

Rules of the Contest

1. Contest is open to all high school students in Henry County -- public, private, and home schools.
2. A copy of the entry form must be completed and submitted with each piece of artwork, attached to the back
of the work. Artwork may be brought to the PAC between 4 and 6 pm on Tuesday, February 22.
3. A student may enter only two pieces, any media. Art deemed objectionable will be excluded.
4. Artwork must be original work of the student, not copied from magazines or other sources, completed during the
high school years. Artwork that has won previous years’ competitions may not be entered.
5. 2D work must be ready to hang with wire attached for use with picture brackets. 3D work must have a pedestal or
some other means of display. All work needs to be of a reasonable size, easy to display. Space is limited,
so the maximum finished size (including frame) accepted for 2D is 30”x40” and 40”x40”x40” for 3D. There must be no
exposed nails or screws on any work.
6. Entrants and parents/guardians expressly agree, by participating in this competition, to release and hold harmless
the Henry County Board of Education, the Henry Arts Alliance, Meadows & Macie and their employees, the Kiwanis
Club and volunteers from any and all liability arising out of this event.
7. Awards will be presented during the Kiwanis Talent Showcase; winners will be notified by phone & email on
Monday, February 28, and are encouraged to be present to receive the check.
8. Artwork will remain on display at the Performing Arts Center through Monday, March 7. ALL artwork must be
picked up on Monday, March 7, between 2:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m.
9. Best of the Show and First Place Winners will receive applications to enter the Georgia Kiwanis International Art and
Talent Showcase in Carrollton. Contact David Shofman of the Henry County Kiwanis Club at 770-506-1994 for

$250 Award for Best of Show
$150 Award to First Place on each grade level
$50 Award to Honorable Mentions
Awards of $100 to the teacher of the top winner and $50 to one other participating
teacher in a random drawing
